Day 60

Yum Yum from the Mikado.

Day 59

I swear, I took a picture today! I did! I found one single photo at the bottom of my SD card with today's date on it, but it was corrupted and would not open no matter what I tried. Mark this one down as "technical difficulties". Buy me a new camera while you're at it.

Day 52

The trees needed pruning, so I hired this local-yokel to do it for me.

Day 51

A friend of mine suggested that I should take a picture of a sunrise instead of a sunset. This is not a sunrise. I am sorry. They happen too early in the summertime.

Day 50

Traffic leads to some interesting photo opportunities.

Week 7 recap

I haven't had a day to myself, save Tuesday, for the last two weeks; it's been all very go-go-go. I feel glad for it, but also a bit tired by it. Next week I'm slated for a camp, and that will take up my mornings. Not that I ever did anything in the morning anyways, but still.

I'm not quite sure how I'll continue the challenge once school starts up again. I usually get a total of about 20 hours of free time during the week, plus weekends. That's not that long to take a picture every day. I'll certainly try, but I have a sinking feeling I may not make it some days. And that would really be too bad; I like the challenge, and want to continue with it.

Anyways, as I went to the Summer Meltdown this week, I have a few pictures for you good people.

The average Meltdown-er: silly hat, beard, shirt from a different festival, socks in Birkenstocks.

Jackie Greene.

The venue the next morning, the day it rained.
The Volkswagen van: the favourite vehicle of the concert-goer.
School bus no more; this is a hobo bus now.

Day 49

Literacy is important.

Tuesday, August 18, 2009

Day 48

It takes a long time to procrastinate.
So long that I took this picture. Note the writing on the sticky note.

Monday, August 17, 2009

Day 47

...Where the light breaks through the trees...
See it big, there's a lot of little things.

Day 46

The small-yet-absurdly-long lens flare on the left side of the picture makes it all the more interesting.
Also, be sure to see it big. It's got a lot of little detail.

Day 45

I love hippie buses.

Day 44

Zzzzz.

Day 43

Turntables are fun.

Double Feature: Weeks 5 and 6 Recapitulation

Wow, time flies. I can't believe I've spent two weeks since I last wrote a recap. I actually had to look back to see exactly what I've done since the last time I wrote. It was really hot the first week, and I spent the majority of my time doing nothing but sitting in front of a three-foot fan, arms spread in a loving hug of the cool.

I went shopping on Robson on August 2nd. Little did I know, it was Gay Pride Day. I was dressed in a yellow shirt and a blue sweater-vest. I fit right in. I discovered that there is a store that sells exactly what I want, how I want, in all sorts of sizes. The store is Brooks Brothers, and it is now my lifelong goal to have enough money to seriously shop there. Aren't they beautiful?

I went to my dear friend Jesse's cabin for five days. It was one of the most beautiful places I've ever been, and there are so many things I should have photographed but didn't. Still, there are some images that are best photographed in memories.

I really need a DSLR. Monetary problems suck. I'm becoming more and more dissatisfied with a lack of a proper zoom, focus, and the general freedom that comes with detachable lenses.

I'm headed to the 9th Annual Summer Meltdown for the weekend, I will be back on Monday with many pictures of music, hippies, and other oddities.

Day 42

Clouds over Vancouver.

Day 41

The storm clears.

Day 40

Care for a swing?

Day 39

Feeding my sunset addiction, one shot at a time.

Day 38

The creepiest places are sometimes the prettiest.
Also, this photo's a perfect square.

Day 37

I spent five mornings here, a cup of tea in my left and Ulysses in my right.

Thursday, August 6, 2009

Day 36

Look guys, a heron!
Note: I will be away for the next five days. Expect some wonderful pictures when I come back. Also, all missing pictures of the last week should be ready by then; they were taked with other people's cameras and they do not have the punctuality I do.

Wednesday, August 5, 2009

Day 35

This picture has yet to be posted. Please keep checking back. I apologize. I did take a picture, I promise!

Tuesday, August 4, 2009

Day 34

Today, I woke up late. I woke up late to discover that my sister had gone to an all-day-followed-by-a-sleepover-style party with my camera. As a result, I have no picture. If you have any problems with this, I wholeheartedly encourage you to confiscate the camera from my sister, delete all her useless pictures, and yell at her. That is all.

Day 33

Day 32

Grossest swimming hole ever, but it makes a good picture.
